RS Development Corp is a boutique real estate development company, founded by Steve McFarland in 1988, specializing in residential, office and retail properties. We are geographically focused in New Jersey, with most of our projects in Hoboken, the Summit area, and the New Jersey Shore. We are best known for our urban infill projects, which are well located, high quality, appropriately sized and thoughtfully designed to complement the architecture and character of their surrounding neighborhoods.

In over 35 years in business, we have completed more than 50 projects, which have included boutique condominiums, rental apartments, single family homes, infill commercial buildings, and the rezoning and master planning of a mixed-use urban redevelopment. In Hoboken alone, we have built or renovated 35 properties, providing nearly 150 residential units. Additionally, RS Development has a commercial tenant roster that includes a mix of local, regional, national and international retailers and service providers.

In all our developments we strive to provide the amenities, efficiencies and aesthetic appeal desired by our tenants and buyers, and we often provide custom finishes and/or building systems for properties purchased or leased pre-construction. We are both the developer and general contractor on our projects, which ensures quality control and a more personal interaction with our clients.

Over the years, we have garnered a sterling reputation for developing quality projects, working cooperatively with governmental authorities, sub-contractors, and real estate brokers, and conscientiously servicing our clients with honesty, integrity and hands-on attention to detail. Our affiliated entity, McFarland Properties Inc, was founded in 2008 in Summit, New Jersey, to serve as a holding company for certain assets in the portfolio and to provide real estate investment management and consulting services.
